What membership offers
VAT and market conditions
Together with partner associations, we are working to bring vegetables, fruit, pulses and plant-based drinks under a lower VAT rate, and to ensure that plant-based products are subject to the same market conditions as other foods.
Public catering
Hungarian public catering prepares 359 million portions a year. We are working to make a tasty plant-based option available in more of them. To do this, we make regulatory proposals and train chefs.
Policy
We carry out preparatory policy work. We represent the sector's interests and engage with decision-makers.
Research and data
We carry out research on the plant-based sector that is unique in Hungary. We make the results available to our members.
Visibility
Our Okosfehérje (Smart Protein) consumer campaign promotes pulses and plant-based eating in Hungary.
Early information and consultation
You hear first-hand about regulatory changes affecting plant-based food. We bring your views to decision-makers through our policy positions.
Community
Members support each other's work: they share experience on regulation and professional matters, and recommend partners, contract manufacturers and experts to one another.
Funding advantages
In food industry funding calls, association membership can earn extra points. NÉGYOSZ is on the list of professional associations recognised by the agriculture ministry, so this applies to the calls it publishes.

Micro and small enterprises

The membership fee covers the full year. If you join during the year, the fee is calculated pro rata.

Membership application
You submit a membership application, committing to the Articles of Association and the Code of Ethics (in Hungarian).

Decision and fee
The Board decides within 30 days of receiving your application. Your membership rights start on the day the fee is paid.

Frequently asked questions
We are a traditional food company. Can we join?
Yes. Under our Articles of Association, any organisation with a site in Hungary that produces, manufactures or distributes plant-based food, or works in public catering or hospitality, can become a member. Plant-based products do not need to be your only line.
We are not based in Hungary yet. Can we join?
Membership is open to organisations with a site in Hungary. If you are not based here yet, write to us and we will look at your situation.
Can I join as an individual?
No, membership is for companies and organisations. As an individual, you can follow our work in our news section.
We are already members of another trade association. Is that a problem?
No. NÉGYOSZ focuses on plant-based food, and we work with other associations in several areas.
Is NÉGYOSZ a political organisation?
No. We are a non-partisan professional association. We treat plant-based food as an economic, public health and food security issue.
How much work does membership involve?
As much as you take on. Whether you join consultations, professional work and events is your decision. What we ask of every member: the fee and compliance with the Articles of Association.
