This was the summer of 2025 for NÉGYOSZ
Elections, festivals, and new professional relationships – this summer was a busy one in the life of NÉGYOSZ. We have compiled a summary of everything we have done over the past few months:
Elections – continuity and fresh energy
Three years have passed since NÉGYOSZ was founded, so it was time for elections. There were no surprises in the leadership: the president, executive director, and secretary remain unchanged. However, there were changes in several other positions:
- Federika Fait moved from supervisory board member to board member
- Mónika Vajda has become vice-president from being a member of the board
- Réka Szöllősi has joined the board
- Bea Várkonyi (Danone) has become a member of the board
- László Bergovecz has moved from being a member of the board to becoming chairman of the supervisory board
- Katalin Péter (Naszálytej) joined the Supervisory Board
- Attila Bíró remained in his previous position on the Supervisory Board
- Szilvi Magyarvári left the Executive Board, but we continue to work actively with her as the professional leader of OkosFehérje.

Our first festival and professional events
This summer, NÉGYOSZ met with the general public and professionals at several locations:
- Krisna Valley Fair – we participated in a panel discussion
- Water Music Flower Festival (Tata) – we played, talked and introduced nearly 200 people to the versatility of legumes at OkosFehérje’s first festival stand over three days. Visitors took home more than 200 of our recipes!
- MDOSZ conference (September): Plant-based diets were a key topic at the conference, with hundreds of interested visitors stopping by our stand and numerous new professional contacts being made. Dieticians were also able to sample plant-based products from Biorganik Online, Papa de Vega, Vega-Farm, and Naszálytej Toffini Tofu. The feedback was very positive: many were surprised at how similar the flavors were to traditional versions. Subscribers received a free copy of our 28-page publication, produced by the University of Pécs, which summarizes the health effects of plant-based diets based on more than 30 international meta-analyses.

Community building and new formats
- Vegan weekend in Parádsasvár: a three-day community experience with tours, sauna, lectures, and, of course, plant-based culinary delights. The program was organized in collaboration with comedian Gergely Litkai at his request.
- Podcast series with Gergely Litkai: we produced three episodes together with the comedian.
- CARE conference, Warsaw: the NÉGYOSZ and Una Terra teams, together with other Hungarian organizations, represented Hungary in the field of plant-based and animal welfare efforts.

Our plans for the near future
- Denmark, October: István Miskolczi will participate in two events, one being the Plant Food Summit and the other being the annual meeting of the European Vegetarian Union. Denmark is the current EU Presidency, and one of the priorities of the Presidency is to promote plant-based foods and sustainable protein sources, so this area is now receiving significant attention.
The work doesn’t stop when summer ends
The summer proved that NÉGYOSZ can simultaneously strengthen its professional background, open up to a wider audience, and create community experiences. We will not be slowing down in the coming months: we will continue to build relationships, represent the cause of plant-based foods, and seek opportunities to reach as many people as possible, both online and in person.
